When and where is Colorado Wiener Fest?
Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at 5825 McWhinney Blvd, Loveland, CO 80538.
Do I need a ticket?
Yes. Colorado Wiener Fest is a ticketed event and admission is handled through Eventbrite. Race entries for The Wiener Cup are booked there too, so you can sort the whole day in one checkout.
Do I need a dachshund to come?
Not at all. Plenty of people come just to look at short dogs, and we fully support that. If you love wiener dogs or you’re simply after a fun, family friendly day in Loveland, you’ll fit right in.
Can I bring a dog that isn’t a dachshund?
This one is dachshunds only — dachshunds and dachshund mixes are the dogs we can welcome on site. Leave other breeds at home and come enjoy the day yourself.
How do I enter the races?
Pick your division — Lil’ Links, The Pro Card, Senior Sausages or Heart in Motion — and book your entry on Eventbrite. Race check-in opens at 11:00am and the first heat goes off at noon.
How do the contests work?
The costume contest, Longest Wiener competition and Puppuccino Challenge are all sign-ups on site the day of the event. Our MC will call each one from the stage.
What time does everything happen?
Gates are open 10:00am to 4:00pm, race check-in is at 11:00am and the first heat runs at noon. Everything after that depends on how many dogs enter, so the live schedule lives on Eventbrite and is subject to change.
Where does the money go?
Proceeds benefit 5280 Dachshund Rescue. You can also donate directly any time, whether or not you make it to the festival.
Will there be food?
Yes — local food and goods vendors will be on site with things to eat and drink for people, plus treat vendors for the dogs.
What should I bring?
A leash, water and a collapsible bowl, poop bags, sunscreen, and a card or cash for the vendors. A towel is a very good idea if your dog is entering the Puppuccino Challenge.
