Welcome to Colorado Wiener Fest

If you know dachshunds, you know. They’re stubborn. They’re hilarious. They’re convinced they’re much bigger than they actually are. And somehow, those little sausage bodies have a way of taking up a pretty big piece of your heart.

So we decided they deserved a festival.

Colorado Wiener Fest is one big day for the wieners and the people crazy enough to love them. We’re taking over Loveland with racing sausages, dressed up doxies, puppuccino covered noses, local vendors, good food and probably more dachshunds than you’ve ever seen in one place.

Think your dachshund is exceptionally long, even by wiener standards? We’ll be getting out the measuring tape for our Longest Wiener Competition, because apparently size does matter when bragging rights are involved.

And we’re just getting started. There’s the costume contest for the wieners and humans who like to make an entrance. The Puppuccino Challenge for the pups who have been training their whole lives for whipped cream. Photo ops, local shopping, food, drinks and plenty of time to simply wander around and enjoy the beautiful chaos of a whole lot of dachshunds in one place.

Don’t have a dachshund? Come anyway. Have one who would rather be carried around like royalty than compete? Bring that little diva too.

Colorado Wiener Fest isn’t really about who runs the fastest, wears the best costume or measures the longest. It’s an excuse to get outside, laugh a lot, support local businesses and spend a day celebrating these funny, stubborn, completely lovable little dogs.

Bring your people. Bring your wiener. Come make some memories in Loveland.
